Lyle Clifford Abrahamson was born on 25 September 1916 in Valley City, North Dakota.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Mark Abrahamson. At some point, the family moved to Dilworth, Minnesota.  Lyle was married and he had a two year old son named Jerome.  He worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad Company before he entered the service in September of 1942.  Lyle shipped to Europe in February of 1944, and he served in England, France, the Netherlands and Germany as well as Belgium.  In September of 1944 he was wouned in action but he returned to his unit.  He died in Belgium on Christmas Day 1944 from wounds received the previous day.
