Capitain Richard J. Binnicker, Jr. was the son of  Mr. and Mrs. Richard Binnicker of Tampa, Florida.  He had two sisters, Ruth and Louise.  His father was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank.  Richard graduated from Plant High School in 1937.  He graduated with high honors from the University of Florida in June 1941.  As a member of the University of Florida’s Army ROTC Battallion, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant at graduation.  He married Mrs. R.J. Binnicker, and they had a daughter who was eight months old at the time of his death.
