Sylvester M Bolick was born on 9 June 1921 in Caldwell County, North Carolina.  He was the son of Milas M. And Hester A. (Phillips) Bolick.  He had three brothers (Thomas, Spencer, Cecil) and nine sisters (Texie, Pearl. Stella, Ina, Ruby, Ruth, Evelyn, Pansy, Ethel.) Before the war, he worked on a farm in Upton, North Carolina.  He joined the Army on 23 September 1942 and was assinged to B Company, 1st Battalion, 119th Infantry Regiment.  He was Killed in Action by a gunshot wound to the head during the Battle of the Bulge at Stoumont Belgium on 21 December 1944.
