Lawrence V. Eden was the Tail Gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress that was nicknamed the Bermondsay Battler.  It was part of the 535th Bomber Squadron of the 381st Bomber Group.  He was living in Camden, New Jersey and working as a driver when he entered the service on 8 December 1942.  Roland was Killed in Action on 22 Februrary 1944 when his bomber was shot down over Germany.
