Frank Sulva Vickers was the son of Reginal J. and Helen Baird Vickers.  His father had served in the Canadian Army in the First World War.  Frank attended the St. Paul’s School in Concorde, New Hampshire where his “good humor and his soundness of judgment caused him to be greatly liked and respected.”  At the school, he rowed, played football and was active in the Missionary Society.  He joined the USAAF shortly after graduating in the class of 1944.  He became a gunner on a B-24 liberator that was part of the 702nd Bomber Squadron of the 445th Bomber Group.  He was Killed in Action over Germany on 7 April 1945, at the age of 19.  It is reported in the school’s 2008-2009 annual report that someone made a tribute gift to St. Paul’s School in his honor.
