Oscar F. (Pat) Price was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Price of Deepwater.  He was married to Jeannette Holder of Fort Mill, North Carolina.  He was assigned to the 456 Field Artillery Battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division.  On 18 May 1945, he died in the crash of a British Lockheed Hudson aircraft, piloted by R.C. Hawkins, that was transporting released prisoners of war to England.
