This Memorial Day ceremony commemorates Private Octaaf Desmet of the US 4th Infantry Regiment who died during the First World War. Since AOMDA Belgium only became aware of the existence of this grave in 2017, this year will mark the first time that a Memorial Day ceremony will be held at his grave.
