Michael Cicak was born on 23 May 1925 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.  He was the son of Michael and Anna Cicak, who had immigrated to the US from Austria.  He had a sister named Anna and a brother named John.  At the time that he registered for the draft in May of 1943, he was attending the Seward Park High School and living at 3999 3rd Ave. in the Bronx, New York.
