Ramon Benito Vigil was born in 1921 in Rio Arriba, New Mexico.  He was the son of Benito and Rufina Vigil  The Vigils were a farming family and Ramon had four brothers.  Raymon joined the service on 5 February 1941.  He participated in the D-Day invasion, and was Killed in Action in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge in an engagement known as the “Cake Hill Battle.”
