Robert P. Allison was the son of George Allison, and he was born in Moscow, Pennsylvania.  Robert was the Bombardier of a B-17 (42-30389) that was nicknamed Dear Mom.  On 17 August 1943, it was on a mission to bomb factories in Regensburg, Germany.  While over Belgium, the plane was attacked by enemy aircraft.  It exploded and crashed in the vicinity of Lummen, Belgium.  The following members of the Dear Mom crew are also buried at the Ardennes American Cemetery:  James F. Smith (copilot), Murlyn F. Bennet (navigator), and Jack H. Loveless (ball turret gunner.)
