In order to protect public health and safety in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Memorial Day ceremony at the Mardasson Memorial in Bastogne is cancelled this year.

The City of Bastogne organizes this Memorial Day Ceremony each year in honor of the Americans who gave their lives in the defense of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge.  The ceremony is conducted in French in the presence of hundreds of local Belgian citizens, and it takes place at the Mardasson Monument.  The AOMDA Foundation has created the Bastogne Memorial Fund to restore the Mardasson Monument.
