Lawrence Kirsch was born on 12 July 1924.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Kirsch of Mehema, Oregon.  He had three sisters, (Arletta; Shirley, Elzetta) and two brothers (Gordon and Dale). He graduated from Stayton High School and enlisted in the US Army shortly after his 18th birthday.  He was Killed in Action on 4 March 1924 at Moedrath, Germany.  He was 21 years old.  His uncle, Basil A. Kirsch, served in the US Army in World War I and is buried at the Flanders Field American Cemetery.
