Francis S. Meyers, Jr. was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Meyers.  He had two brothers who were also in the service, Edward and John.   Francis attended the St. Gertrude’s school and he was employed by the Lee Rubber and Tire Company before the war.  He was married to Marcie (Bergey) Meyers who was originally from Norristown.  They lived at 225 E Fifth Street in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.  Francis entered the service on 26 April 1943 and was assigned to the 614th Bomber Squadron of the 401st Bomber Group.  He was a tail gunner on a B-17 flying fortress that was brought down over Germany on 7 October 1944.  Francis was 31 years old.
